We believe that creativity is even more meaningful when shared—and there’s something truly special about gathering in person with fellow makers.

If you’re thinking about hosting a Handmade Book Club meetup, thank you! Your willingness to bring members together helps strengthen the heart of our community.

This page is your go-to resource for everything you need to plan a successful event. Whether you’re organizing a cozy gathering at your local library or hosting a group in your home studio, we’re here to support you every step of the way.

Meetup Guidelines

  • Local meetups are for members of the Handmade Book Club only and aren’t intended for general art get-togethers. Handmade Book Club meetups must remain open to any member who wishes to participate.
  • Handmade Book Club meet ups should not include any outside teachers or paid participation.
  • If your meetup will be ongoing, please discuss if/how leadership and location will be rotated.
  • Handmade Book Club meetups are not for any promotion of outside workshops, classes or events. When hosting a meetup on behalf of the book club, you're agreeing to honor the privacy of our members and only use member contact information for the purposes of this meetup.
  • The $200 stipend is a one-time gift and should be used for lunch, refreshments and any out-of-pocket supplies only. The funds are not to be used at the discretion of the group.
  • Due to liability issues, please reach out to us at [email protected] if you plan to organize an event outside the format of a regular meetup (such as a retreat, full day event, or multi day event).
  • Meetups should not be for profit of have any paid participation with the exception of sharing costs for venue, supplies, and/or food.
  • The best part of meetups are the friendship and connections made! We understand that you may become a tight-knit group, but in the spirit of the mission of the book club, we ask that you keep regular meet ups open to new participants. We will share recurring meetups in the newsletter once per quarter.

Hosting a Meetup

Community has always been at the forefront of our vision for the Handmade Book Club and we thank you for graciously offering to host a Handmade Book Club Meetup!

We're so excited to see members gathering together for friendship, fun and creativity! We've compiled this guide in an effort to help you facilitate your event and provide what we can to help. As a show of our appreciation, Ali would like to offer you a $200 gift to cover the cost of lunch and materials. The option to receive this stipend is in the Meetup Form (please note that this is a one-time gift).
